“Injecting” an amazing energy into the series, Chloe’s cousin, Lois Lane, comes to Smallville to find out what really happened after Chloe was caught in a terrific explosion. Lex continues to slip to the dark side as his friendship with Clark becomes increasingly strained. Lana begins a new relationship in Paris. Her boyfriend, Jason Teague, follows her to Smallville so they can be together, against his mother’s wishes. A glimpse of the future Lex Luthor is revealed after an experiment involving black kryptonite causes an explosion at Luthor Corp “splitting” Lex in two. Lionel is sent to prison where, through a body switch, Clark saves his life and turns the senior Luthor into a humanitarian. It’s a crazy season that blends body switches and possessions, lost and rediscovered memories, diabolic plans and Clark’s attempt to unite the three knowledge crystals. Eventually, Clark manages to find them, but it turns out to be too late. A second meteor shower hits Smallville.
