This season surprises with a dark turn in the storyline. The characters fight with their inner demons and learn to live with the consequences of their own actions. Still under the effects of red kryptonite, Clark gets involved with a crime lord named Morgan Edge. Meanwhile, determined to reunite his family, Jonathan makes a deal with Jor El who gives him the power necessary to end the ill effects of the red kryptonite. Clark fights against the destiny that Jor El, his biological father, “decided” for him. He also develops new abilities and it’s very interesting to see how step by step he learns to control them. Chloe discovers that she can cross the line of decent journalism while Pete makes the wrong enemies. Lex comes to romantic complications and uncovers a secret that causes him a psychological breakdown. Meanwhile, Lionel Luthor is decided to find out what Clark is hiding and what connects him to the caves.
