Season two of “Smallville” picks up exactly where the first season left off. Clark deals with the effects of the tornado that hit Smallville. He manages to save Lana from certain death, but elsewhere, his father is buried alive along with Roger Nixon, an unscrupulous reporter who discovered Clark’ secret. This season may be defined as revealing. Clark finally learns who he is and where he came from. Accidentally, he discovers a Native American cave which contains Kryptonian symbols that hold the key to his mysterious beginnings. His biological father’ spirit portrays a potential destiny that could change his life and the lives of those around him forever. The differences between Clark and Jonathan’s relationship and Lex and Lionel become obvious. Clark’s relationship with Lana evolves in a romantic way, causing an estrangement from Chloe. In this season Pete finds out about his friend’ superhuman powers. The young Superman comes into contact with a new type of kryptonite. Red kryptonite removes Clark’s inhibitions. It gives him the chance to get things off his chest, but also becomes selfish and hurts his friends.
