Despite Jor El’s warnings, Clark releases his biological mother who was trapped in Kara’s crystal. Manipulated by Zor El, Lara gives her son Jor El’s ring which contains blue kryptonite. The ring strips Clark of his powers, enabling Zor El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Chloe and Lex each discover that the relationship between Lois and Grant evolved in a romantic way.
