During a party nearby a frozen lake with kryptonite at the bottom, Sean Kelvin has an accident and falls through the ice. He mysteriously survives, but has a strange hunger for heat. He uses other people’s body heat for his own survival. Meanwhile, Clark’s parents have financial difficulties and need a loan to save their farm. The help comes from an unlikely source. Sean freezes and kills his girlfriend Jenna Barnum and invites Chloe to date him with the intention to absorb her body heat. Clark leaves Lana alone at a Radiohead concert… just in time to rescue Chloe. Wounded, Lana returns to the arms of her boyfriend Whitney.
