Lana has a meeting with Lionel and shortly afterwards she is shot at the Daily Planet. After being knocked unconscious, Jimmy dreams about a 1940s black-and-white version of Smallville. There, he is a reporter who investigates Lana, with the help of his assistant Chloe. It turns out that Lana is an evil “femme fatale” who plans to kill her husband Lex. Clark works at the Daily Planet as a reporter and Lois is a sultry singer working at a bar owned by Lionel. Back in 2007, Clark discovers the reason why Lana married Lex. Meanwhile, Lois is investigating the shooting case and she steals a silver lined cigarette case which could contain evidence.
