Still unable to remember what happened in the past few months, Lex is decided to try an experimental treatment. Clark knows his secret will be revealed if the treatment succeeds and tries to convince Lex to stop. Worried, Clark also appeals to Lionel, but unconsciously gives the evil Luthor the idea to set a trap for our hero. Dr. Garner and Lionel subject him to the memory device that implies a solution containing kryptonite. Clark remembers the moment when his mother, Lara, put him in the spaceship and realizes how much she loved him. His body reacts to the solution causing an explosion which kills Dr. Garner.
