Clark is looking for a gift for Martha in a jewelry store, but in the same time the store is being robbed. Trying to stop the two thieves with his heat vision, Clark is temporarily blinded as a piece of kryptonite reflects it back to his eyes. He realizes that his body has developed super hearing, but he is not able to actually control it. Nevertheless, he is able to hear a conversation between Lionel and Chloe about Lex and himself. Lex is informed of his father’s intentions. Meanwhile, Lionel suspects Chloe to be Lex’s informer and he fires her from the newspaper.
