Clark and Chloe are transported from the Kawatche caves to the Fortress of Solitude, built in ice from the fully formed knowledge crystal. Here, the spirit of Jor El prepares Clark to save the planet, but when he sees Chloe freezing to death, Clark can’t continue. Although Jor El initially forbids him to leave, he finally agrees with one condition: Clark must return before sunset. Meanwhile, what was left of Smallville is now destroyed by two evil super powerful Kryptonians, who arrive in town in a black spaceship in the same time with the meteor shower.
